Forschungsprojekte zum Gender Mainstreaming

Im WS 1997/98 startete im Rahmen der "Targeted Socio Economic Research" (TSER) der EG ein Projekt, das drei Jahre lang in sechs europäischen Ländern (BRD, Dänemark, Griechenland, Großbritannien, Italien, Schweden) mit biographischen Methoden geforscht hat. Der Projektbericht wurde im Februar 2001 bei der EG eingereicht.

Summary:
The research is founded upon the explicit hypothesis that active social integration policies aiming at the promotion of self-employment of unemployed women and migrant minority members can only be successful if their specific socialisation under unstable biographical and work conditions is recognised and compensation is provided for their discontinuous working careers. The empirical methodology of this project has challenged this hypothesis through the systematic collection of life-histories and work-histories from samples of women and migrants who participated in programmes geared to active social integration. Theses samples have been matched with samples if migrants and women who have become successfully self-employed without benefit of these programmes and policies.
